Jason Were
Field Officer – MCH
He joined the Centre for Peace and Nationhood (CPN) in 2020, serving as the Economic Empowerment Coordinator for the Community Maternal and Child Health Project. He has extensive experience in community development, training, and team leadership. He holds a Master’s degree in Transformational Development from Eastern College Australia, as well as an Associate degree from the same institution. Additionally, he has a Higher Diploma in Missiology from St. Paul’s University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies at African International University. He is a trained professional mediator, accredited by the Mediation Accreditation Committee (MAC) to conduct both court-annexed and private mediation. His training includes peacebuilding and conflict transformation, focusing on issues related to religious and organizational conflicts, as well as the challenges faced by refugees and internally displaced persons, completed through the African Peacebuilding Institute. Furthermore, he is a certified development project manager, recognized by the Project Management Institute. Previously, he volunteered with the Mennonite Central Committee in Cambodia as part of the Young Anabaptist Mennonite Exchange Networks (YAMEN). His areas of interest include community health, particularly maternal and child health, Economic Empowerment, and Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation.
